Single Blessedness (part 1)
Introduction
Perhaps no person in the country could better exemplify the extraordinary strengths and capabilities of single Moms than the later former president Corazon “Cory” Aquino. While she was widely credited for bringing back democracy in our land, she was also much praised for single-handedly raising her children during the time when her late husband Ninoy was incarcerated for eight years in Fort Bonifacio. With Sheer combination of guts and faith, single moms can, like Cory did, take control of their situation- especially so when they have the law on their side.
WHO ARE SINGLE MOMS?
To clarify, “single mom” is not a legal term. Under the Solo Parents Welfare Act of 2000, single moms are legally called “solo parents”. Solo Parents primarily because they have “responsibility of parenthood,” meaning they have a child or dependent under care.
Kopiko Brown Coffee
Posted by: jhanok in Current Events, Trivias on January 13th, 2010
There’s a new product from Kopiko, a brand II used to know to be a brand of coffee flavored candy and a few years ago released their instant 3 in 1 coffee. And today I discovered their new brand, the Kopiko brown coffee. Like their previous 3 in one coffee, it has instant coffee, creamer & sugar the only different is that the new one uses brown sugar. Others said after tasting it, that it is better than the old product. And taste like caramel. Personally, I can prove that it is better than their other product.

Perseid meteor shower (“the Perseids”)
The Perseids (pronounced /ˈpɜrsiː.ɨdz/ us dict: pûr′·sē·ĭdz) are a prolific meteor shower associated with the comet Swift-Tuttle. The Perseids are so called because the point they appear to come from, called the radiant, lies in the constellation Perseus.
Every year in early August, we can observe the Perseid meteor shower (“the Perseids”). And it’s a fascinating sky event.
Here’s a beginners’ guide to what it is and how best to enjoy it. (Perhaps, impress your friends with these astronomy questions and answers!)
Meteor showers occur when Earth moves through a meteor stream. The stream in this case is called the Perseid cloud and it stretches along the orbit of the Comet Swift-Tuttle. The cloud consists of particles ejected by the comet as it passes by the Sun. Most of the dust in the cloud today is approximately a thousand years old. However, there is also a relatively young filament of dust in the stream that was pulled off the comet in 1862. The rate of meteors originating from this filament is much higher than for the older part of the stream.

Getting Rid of Black and Other House Ants
House Black Ants, which can also be popularly known as “Sugar Ants” can be most of the times annoying. You open the sugar canister to find out that it was invaded by hundreds of black ants!

Black Ants
Keep Ants Away from your House
Keeping black ants (or any types of ants) away from you home! Here are a couple of tips in getting rid of those pesky, annoying black ants.
When the ants go marching two by two to your sugar bowl, then you know it’s time for some creative pest control. Keep ants outside (where they belong) by sprinkling a thin layer of baking soda in the cracks underneath the doors and anywhere else they can get into your house.
Cinnamon gets rid of ants they dont like it at all …..put it where you have seen them comming from and they will go away.
Bay leaves, especially when dipped into mint mouthwash and placed around the food pantry, are another helpful option.
Try to seal any possible holes to keep the invasion at bay, and make sure there is no garbage or anything attractive to ants near the entrance of your home. Windowsills should be clear of food, as these can be popular places for ants to enter.
Creating a ring of Vaseline or chalk around windows and doors also helps, as ants will not cross lines draw with any of these products. While this may not help you get rid of the ants already present in your home, it will certainly discourage other ones to join the invasion. Baby powder is another great ant repellent. Sprinkling some on doors will keep ants out of your house.
Ants also hate vinegar. For an easy solution, just mix equal parts of vinegar and water and then sprinkle on counters and other food storage and preparation areas. If there are no small children or pets in the house, you can also use glass cleaner to spray areas in other rooms outside of the kitchen.
Then there’s nippon, raid, baygon products.
